Better World Organization Responds to Floods in Duhok
In March 2024, devastating floods struck Duhok and its surrounding areas, displacing thousands of families and causing extensive damage to homes and property. As one of the first responders, the Better World Organization swiftly mobilized to provide critical assistance to those most affected, particularly women and children.
In the early hours of March 19th, heavy rains triggered severe flooding throughout Duhok and neighboring regions. Recognizing the urgent need for aid, Better World Organization, with the generous support of the Federal Foreign Office (German Consulate) in Erbil, launched a comprehensive relief effort. This initiative reached 900 families in Duhok Center, Zakho District, and Bardarash (Hussain Camp).
Our team distributed 900 food packs, 900 women’s dignity kits, 50 children’s packs for infants under one year, and 742 sets of clothing for children under 13. These efforts were made possible by the dedication of 15 young volunteers from Duhok, who worked tirelessly to support their community in this time of crisis.
Together, we continue to strive towards a better, more resilient world.
