About Better World Organization for Community Development (BWOCD)
Better World Organization for Community Development (BWOCD) is a fully women-led, non-profit organization founded in 2017 in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and registered in Baghdad in 2019.
BWOCD works to empower women, girls, and youth by supporting their journey from vulnerability to leadership and meaningful participation in society. Through community-driven and locally led approaches, the organization promotes protection, psychosocial wellbeing, social and economic empowerment, community cohesion, climate action, and humanitarian response across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Guided by the values of Humanity, Dignity, Care, Excellence, and Integrity, BWOCD believes that empowering women, girls, and youth is essential for building more peaceful, inclusive, and resilient communities.
