Since May 2026, Better World Organization for Community Development (BWOCD), in partnership with Women for Women International, has been implementing the Stronger Women, Stronger Nation program in Kabarto Camp. The six-month initiative, running through October 2026, aims to strengthen the social and economic empowerment of 100 women by providing knowledge, practical skills, and continuous support that enable them to become more confident, resilient, and economically independent.
The program combines social and economic empowerment components through structured learning sessions designed to address the challenges faced by women in displacement settings while promoting their active participation in family and community life.
As part of the program, participants attend interactive social empowerment sessions that focus on women’s rights, health and well-being, gender equality, leadership, communication, and decision-making. The sessions create a safe and supportive environment where women can exchange experiences, build self-confidence, and develop the skills needed to become active contributors within their communities.
The economic empowerment component equips participants with practical financial and business knowledge. Women receive training in numeracy, household budgeting, savings, financial planning, and basic business skills, helping them improve financial management and prepare for future income-generating opportunities.
Through the Stronger Women, Stronger Nation program, BWOCD and Women for Women International are supporting women in Kabarto Camp to strengthen their capabilities, expand their opportunities, and increase their resilience. By investing in women’s knowledge, confidence, and economic potential, the program contributes to stronger families, more resilient communities, and sustainable social development.
