16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

On 25 November 2024, the global campaign 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence officially commenced, marking an important period of advocacy, awareness, and collective action worldwide. This year’s theme, “No Excuse. UNiTE to End Violence Against Women,” delivers a clear and powerful message: there is no justification for violence, and ending gender-based violence requires united and sustained efforts from all sectors of society.
In alignment with this global movement, Better World Organization (BWO) actively participated in a collaborative awareness activity organized by the Directorate of Combating Violence Against Women (DCVAW), alongside various local NGOs and international organizations. The event provided a platform for civil society actors, institutions, and community members to come together in solidarity to address the pressing issue of violence against women and girls.
The activity focused on raising public awareness about the different forms of gender-based violence, highlighting its social and psychological impact, and emphasizing the importance of prevention, protection, and accountability. Through discussions, advocacy messages, and community engagement, participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to building a society where women and girls can live free from fear, discrimination, and harm.
As part of the event, Better World Organization proudly showcased its ongoing efforts in promoting women’s empowerment, supporting survivors, and advocating for gender equality. BWO remains dedicated to creating safe spaces, strengthening community awareness, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to promote sustainable and long-term solutions.
The organization was honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from DCVAW in recognition of its continuous dedication and active contribution to combating violence against women. This acknowledgment reflects the value of strong partnerships and reinforces BWO’s commitment to advancing gender justice and human rights.
The 16 Days of Activism serve as a reminder that addressing gender-based violence is not limited to a single campaign period, but requires consistent, year-round efforts. Better World Organization will continue to stand alongside partners, institutions, and communities to advocate for equality, empower women and girls, and contribute to building safer, more inclusive communities for present and future generations.
