On Thursday, 30 April 2026, in Erbil, the Better World Organization for Community Development (BWOCD) team, in collaboration with the Directorate of Migration and Crisis Response (DMCR), held a coordination meeting with the Joint Crisis Coordination Center (JCC) and the High Council of Women and Development (HCWD). The meeting took place as part of the ongoing follow-up on the project “Increasing Young Women’s Participation and Leadership in Humanitarian Action, Planning, and Crisis Response in Duhok Governorate.”
The session focused on reviewing the progress of project implementation, strengthening coordination among partners, and discussing the next steps to ensure that planned activities are delivered effectively and in line with the project’s objectives. It also provided a structured space to enhance alignment, improve communication, and reinforce collaboration between all stakeholders involved in the project.
More importantly, the discussion highlighted the critical importance of investing in young women as active leaders in humanitarian action and crisis response. In a context where communities continue to face diverse challenges and potential crises, empowering young women remains essential to building more inclusive and effective response systems.
Through this joint effort, partners reaffirmed their shared commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for young women to participate in decision-making processes and to contribute to strengthening sustainable community resilience across Duhok Governorate.
