The team from the Better World Organization for Community Development (BWOCD) participated in a three-day training held from April 21 to 23, 2026, in Erbil, focusing on promoting peaceful approaches to conflict resolution. The training was organized by the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP), implemented by ForumZFD, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen peacebuilding capacities among civil society actors.
The training aimed to enhance participants’ understanding and practical skills in reducing violence, addressing and resolving conflicts, and fostering sustainable peacebuilding practices. It placed particular emphasis on building and maintaining positive relationships through effective communication and active listening, as essential tools for constructive dialogue and mutual understanding.
Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in interactive activities designed to strengthen teamwork and collaboration, while also developing emotional regulation skills, including anger management in challenging situations. The training further supported participants in building self-confidence and encouraging a culture of respect for diversity and differing perspectives.
