Background:
Better World Organization for Community Development is a humanitarian and non- governmental organization established on 24th May 2017 in Kurdistan/Iraq. Independent and non-profit that works to advocate for peace and coexistence in the community and improve the social, psychosocial and economic situation of people. The organization is focusing on women through projects which ensure protection and empowerment for them.
Under the direct supervision of (Project Manager) the ( Activity Facilitator) will perform the following duties and responsibilities.
Purpose of the Role:
The primary objective of the Trainer is to design, deliver, and evaluate a comprehensive five-day training on women and girls rights, gender equality, UNSCR 1325 WPS and (Sexual/Violence against women and girls)S/VAWG.. The training will focus on empowering participants from both civil society organizations and government agencies to better understand, advocate for, and implement policies and practices that protect and promote the rights of women and girls. The trainer will facilitate a series of interactive sessions to ensure that participants gain practical knowledge, skills, and tools to integrate gender equality into their work.
Under the direct supervision of the (Project Manager), the (Trainer) will perform the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Establish clear and measurable learning objectives tailored to participants from civil society organizations and government agencies.
2. Develop structured training content, including PowerPoint presentations, handouts, case studies, and supplementary materials.
3. Design pre- and post-training assessments to evaluate participants’ baseline knowledge and measure progress.
4. Plan and incorporate interactive activities such as group discussions, role-playing exercises, and scenario-based learning to enhance engagement.
5. Manage the training schedule effectively, balancing theoretical concepts with practical exercises and ensuring smooth transitions between topics.
6. Deliver engaging training sessions on women and girls’ rights, gender equality, UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), and Sexual/Violence Against Women and Girls (S/VAWG).
7. Facilitate group discussions, encourage active participation, and address participants’ questions to deepen understanding.
8. Provide practical tools, strategies, and best practices to help participants integrate gender equality principles into their work.
9. Analyze post-training assessments and participant feedback to evaluate learning outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
10. Prepare a comprehensive training report outlining key discussions, participant feedback, challenges, and recommendations for future training sessions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Proven experience in training and capacity-building, especially with vulnerable populations.
• Fluency in Arabic and/or Kurdish is preferred, with a good command of English.
• Good experience in the field of women’s and girls’ rights, gender equality, or related areas, preferably working with civil society organizations and/or government agencies.
• Proven experience in designing and facilitating training.
• Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders, including government officials, civil society representatives, and local communities.
