Background:
Better World Organization for Community Development is a humanitarian and non-governmental organization established on 24th May 2017 in Kurdistan/Iraq. Independent and non-profit that works to advocate for peace and coexistence in the community and improve social, psychosocial and economic situation of people. The organization is focusing on women through projects which ensure protection and empowerment for them.
Under the direct supervision of (Project Manager) the ( Center Manager ) will perfrom the following duites and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within the Better World Organization Code of Conduct, HR Policy, and full compliance with Safeguarding, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Anti-Fraud and any other relevant policies of the organization. Policy documents will be provided on the Orientation Day.
- Formulate work plans that align with the project’s objectives, collaborating with staff to ensure the timely execution of livelihood and protection activities.
- Implement project-related guidelines to ensure the delivery of safe, dignified, and inclusive protection and livelihood services to beneficiaries, particularly women returnees.
- Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the center, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Efficiently manage and allocate resources, including supplies, equipment, and facilities, to support the smooth functioning of the center and project activities.
- Conduct monthly status reviews to assess the progress of project activities and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and actively participate in coordination meetings with stakeholders, focusing on livelihood and protection service provision in the area.
- Foster a positive program image by promoting understanding and collaboration among various sectors, local communities, and partners involved in the project.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with community support groups, leaders, and partner organizations to enhance cooperation and coordination at the area level.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all project activities, including forms, attendance sheets, and staff records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ensure the timely consolidation and submission of project progress reports, reflecting achievements and challenges, to the Project Manager.
- Facilitate collaboration between livelihood and protection activities, ensuring holistic service delivery to women returnees in accordance with project goals.
- Assure that all activities adhere to agreed-upon strategies, principles, implementation plans, and donor guidelines, contributing to the successful delivery of the project.
- Complete all required reports on time and undertake any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor to support beneficiaries and advance BWO’s programs.
- Undertake additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Social Work, Community Development, or Project Management, with a minimum of 2 years of experience managing livelihood or protection programs.
- Fluency in Arabic (mandatory) for effective community engagement and English (required) for reporting and documentation.
- Proven ability to develop and execute detailed work plans that align with program goals and objectives.
- Solid understanding of protection and livelihood principles, including best practices in implementing protection-focused programs.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to oversee daily administrative operations, ensure compliance with policies, and manage resources efficiently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community members and partner organizations.
- Strong networking skills to foster collaboration with local partners, support groups, and other entities at the community level.
- Proficiency in Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer, for documentation, reporting, and analysis purposes.
- Commitment to teamwork and adherence to organizational policies and principles while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
