Background:
Better World Organization for Community Development is a humanitarian and non-governmental organization established on 24th May 2017 in Kurdistan/Iraq. Independent and non-profit that works to advocate for peace and coexistence in the community and improve
social, psychosocial and economic situation of people. The organization is focusing on women through projects which ensure protection and empowerment for them.
Under the direct supervision of (Procurement and Fleet Officer) the ( Bus Driver ) will perfrom the following duites and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Safely transport project staff to and from designated locations, ensuring a secure and comfortable journey.
2. Utilize knowledge of designated routes to transport project staff in a timely and efficient manner.
3. Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the mini-bus, reporting any maintenance issues promptly to ensure the vehicle’s reliability.
4. Maintain effective communication with project staff to coordinate transportation schedules and address any changes or special requirements.
5. Strictly adhere to established schedules to ensure timely arrivals and departures for project
6. Keep accurate log sheet records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transportation.
7. Interact with project staff in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any inquiries or concerns during transit.
8. Adhere to all Organization policies and regulatory requirements related to safe driving, passenger transport, and vehicle operation.
9. Demonstrate flexibility in accommodating any changes to transportation plans and schedules as directed by project Manager or Fleet Officer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a professional driver, preferably with experience transporting passengers.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with project staff.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in various transportation situations.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for conducting routine vehicle inspections and addressing minor issues.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changes in schedules or transportation plans as directed by project staff.
