Background:
Better World Organization for Community Development is a humanitarian and non-governmental organization established on 24th May 2017 in Kurdistan/Iraq. Independent and non-profit that works to advocate for peace and coexistence in the community and improve the social, psychosocial and economic situation of people. The organization is focusing on women through projects which ensure protection and empowerment for them.
Under the direct supervision of (Project Manager) the ( Activity Facilitator) will perform the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work within the Better World Organization Code of Conduct, HR Policy, and full compliance with Safeguarding, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Anti-Fraud and any other relevant policies of the organization. Policy documents will be provided on the Orientation Day.
- Design and plan engaging activities suitable for the target audience, considering their interests, abilities, and goals.
- Conduct structured Psychosocial Support (PSS) sessions aimed at improving participants’ psychosocial well-being.
- Develop daily plans in advance for each PSS session in accordance with the agreed-upon PSS program.
- Prepare the necessary materials, equipment, and resources for each activity.
- Utilize effective facilitation skills to create a comfortable atmosphere, encourage participation, and foster personal development among participants.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of beneficiaries, ensuring they are not exposed to any harm or unnecessary stress during the sessions.
- Submit regular weekly or monthly reports to the direct supervisor as per the project plan.
- Organize and coordinate on-site activities and recreational events.
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and assistance to participants, promoting their personal growth and development.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, volunteers, and external partners to ensure smooth coordination and implementation of activities.
- Participate in mentoring or supervision sessions, as well as any required meetings.
- Perform any other relevant duty requested by direct supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- University degree in psychology, social science, or relevant field.
- Ability to lead group discussions and facilitate debate
- Language Requirements: Arabic and English.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experiences in Using KoBo Collect and KoBo Toolbox
- Previous Experience in psychosocial support, GBV, and protection programs.
